All prices are listed in Australian Dollars.
I confirm I am 18 years or older or have the consent of someone who is.
I confirm that I am ordering the books in my shopping cart and request Guildford Book Exchange to accept payment of these products. I understand I have a cooling-off period for physical books on this order and after that period expires, this purchase is deemed a firm sale (i.e. non-returnable).I verify that these books are being purchased for personal use and are not being purchased to on selling through another store. Products are described as best they can be and if you feel the description does not match the product on delivery please contact the store to discuss (you have 7 days to make a claim; after this period it will be voided as a confirmed sale).
PLEASE NOTE: As Guildford Book Exchange is an online bookstore; our primary means of communication with you will be via email. Guildford Book Exchange will not be held responsible for any missed communication due to the email address being incorrect. If you have more than one email address, please check all email accounts before contacting Guildford Book Exchange.
CHANGES TO ORDERS
Guildford Book Exchange will only allow you to add additional books to your order within 1 business day of the original order being placed to reduce the cost of postage if/when applicable. We are unable to combine multiple orders after the payment for the order is processed.
GUILDFORD BOOK EXCHANGE ” ITEM GUARANTEE”
Guildford Book Exchange is not required to offer a credit or refund at all if a customer simply changes their mind, or has found the product elsewhere, according to WA and Australian Law (Trade Practices Acts). But we may allow the option depending on the circumstances surrounding the sale.
Guildford Book Exchange offers a ” Item Guarantee” to return any item with an Australian delivery address for a store credit for the value of the items returned however this is by agreement with Guildford Book Exchange. The items must be returned as it was received and the same book must be returned this will also be at the customers expense (however dependant on sale Guildford Book Exchange is to decide on all costs associated with the return of a sale item and how refunds will take place), in some circumstances fees may/can be applied due to handling costs (this is at the discretion of Guildford Book Exchange). The Guarantee does not include, orders with an overseas shipping address, firm sale titles and orders where an extra discount has been applied.
Items damaged during shipping must be notified within 2 days of delivery and contact with Guildford Book Exchange must occur to discuss return or refund (returns and refunds are at the sole discretion of Guildford Book Exchange).
All prices are listed in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.
All orders are subject to price and availability confirmation. If we cannot supply the product for the originally advertised price then Guildford Book Exchange will refund the book.
In the case an item is double sold due to an error with the sales program or any other means a refund or store credit will be offered.
If an item is advertised lower than it was supposed to be Guildford Book Exchange can decide to change the price or refund you depending on circumstances surrounding the price been displayed incorrectly. You will not be charged for that item until Guildford Book Exchange has been given confirmation to proceed with the new price, in the case the product is charged before confirmation it will be refunded. You have 48 hours to respond to the options given to you. If you respond after this time frame, you will be asked to place a new order through the website. If there are other titles on the order that are readily available then they will be automatically ordered, regardless of what percentage of the order they make up.
Guildford Book Exchange are not obligated to sell a title at the listed price. In all instances you will be contacted via e-mail or phone.
We reserve the right to correct any printing errors.

PLEASE NOTE: All prices on the Guildford Book Exchange website are for orders placed via the website only. Orders placed by phone or in person at our store will be charged accordingly and at Guildford Book Exchanges’ discretion.
THE GUILDFORD BOOK EXCHANGE AUDIO & VISUAL POLICY
THERE IS A NO RETURN & NO REFUND POLICY FOR ALL AUDIO AND VISUAL ITEMS. Guildford Book Exchange lists the format in each item, in the shopping cart, checkout and final payment details page. This does not affect your rights if the audio or visual item is faulty* or damaged.
*Please note that as Guildford Book Exchange sources some titles from foreign countries, DVD’s from these countries may not play in your DVD player due to regional code variations, while they are tested it is your responsibility as the consumer to check all details of the product.
GUILDFORD BOOK EXCHANGE CREDIT
Store credit cannot be used for sales on the website. Once a sale has been processed and you decide you no longer want it you may be given the following options if the product has not been shipped yet:
Store Credit or the possibility of a refund minus any associated processing costs (i.e. PayPal charges or mailing costs). You must either call Guildford Book Exchange on 08 9377 3491 during the trading days/hours listed on the website or via e-mail with details regarding the order and fair reasoning as to why you no longer require the product.. This does not apply to ‘firm sale’ items (DVDS, Records), which cannot be cancelled or returned unless the item is faulty or damaged (this si also at the discretion of the store).
Guildford Book Exchange reserves the right to cancel a refund or order at any time at their discretion, you will have 7 days after delivery to contact the store with any concerns after which time the sale is confirmed and no refund will be offered unless arranged by Guildford Book Exchange.
Guildford Book Exchange reviews every order prior to processing and will only authorize items as they see fit. If an item is no longer available or incorrectly listed you will be notified. You will not be charged for items that are no longer available due to sale or as per Guildford Book Exchanges staffs discretion.
In Stock at the Guildford Book Exchange Store items that are in stock at Guildford Book Exchange will be listed on the site usually with the amount of the product been available showing. Occasionally stock runs out before the website is updated and you will be notified if you have been affected.
Items not In Stock at the Guildford Book Exchange store
Items that are NOT in stock at the Guildford Book Exchange store will need to be ordered from the supplier. Any title that does NOT feature a red ‘in stock’ star on the product information page of the individual title will need to be ordered from the supplier.
If an item in your order is affected then Guildford Book Exchange staff will contact you via e-mail to inform you of the delay and you will be updated with the relevant information.
How long will it take to deliver the book/s?
1. After you place your order we will review and confirm or deny the order at our discretion or upon availability.
2. You will be sent an email once your order has been processed.
3. All delivery times will be dependent on the carriers general delivery times (usually between 5-7 working days within Australia however this is dependent on the delivery location and postal/freight carrier used and order processing time. When contacted by e-mail we will try to give you the best indication of when to expect the delivery ), if you choose to collect then it must be during trading hours listed on the website itself.
4. If you choose to arrange your own method of delivery please contact the store.
5. Were possible tracking numbers and carrier information will be provided to you as the customer.
6. Your contact number and delivery address will be provided to the freight carrier to ensure the best possible result of delivering goods on time.
7. Depending on the carrier a blanket ATL (authority to leave) may be put in place.
1. Most of Guildford Book Exchange’s books are dispatched from the store within 1 – 5 business days.
2. Guildford Book Exchange specialize in books that are difficult to source.
In all instances we will notify you of delivery with the information we have at the time of processing your order as discussed above. Please also add the appropriate number of days it may take for Australia Post for Australian orders or FedEx/NZ Mail for international orders to deliver to you from Perth Western Australia.
Stock on hand at the Guildford Book Exchange store will be shipped as soon as possible (dependent on order processing and business day). Please note that if your order is placed during a “sale” period, dispatch time for ‘in stock’ items can be delayed due to increased volume of orders.
If items are not readily available then our staff will endeavor to contact you to discuss the time frame for the books/items.
How will I know if my order has been dispatched?
An email will be sent once your order has been dispatched from our store. If you have elected to collect your order from our Guildford store, you will receive an email advising of this.
INSUFFICIENT AND/OR INCORRECT DELIVERY INFORMATION
*** Any changes and/or corrections for current orders must be made by contacting the store immediately (see website for contact times/details) ***
Any Extra arrangements surrounding incorrect information supplied will be at the expense of you the customer.
Customers who enter addresses that Australia Post have deemed having incorrect and/or insufficient details to ensure delivery may result in the following:
• Delayed delivery
• Lost parcel
• Package/s returned to the Guildford Book Exchange store.
If Guildford Book Exchange is found to be responsible for incorrectly addressing a package then Guildford Book Exchange will be responsible for the re-sending, replacement or refund of the items not delivered or delayed.
Any package returned to Guildford Book Exchange due to the above incorrect and/or insufficient information will require an extra delivery charge of $6.95. Also, if Guildford Book Exchange has incurred extra fees to retrieve the package from Australia Post then these charges will also be borne by the customer before the package can be dispatched again.
If a package arrives back to the Guildford Book Exchange store due to the above incorrect and/or insufficient delivery issues and incurs damage to the item(s), Guildford Book Exchange will not be responsible for replacing the goods but will make every effort to settle on the product cost based on the store owners/staff’s expertise.
If stock is no longer available at the same price at the time of ordering then Guildford Book Exchange will not be required to find a replacement or refund or store credit.
If a customer prefers not to receive the items as their requirements have changed then no refund or store credit will be provided due to “incorrect and/or insufficient address” details however contact the store for a reasonable outcome at Guildford Book Exchanges discretion.
Any shipment that is delayed or lost and is found to have had incorrect and/or insufficient details provided by the customer will not be covered by Guildford Book Exchange. NO REFUNDS and NO STORE CREDITS are applicable.
If the package has the correct delivery information and is ‘lost’ by Australia Post or the chosen carrier, Guildford Book Exchange will discuss refunding only after you have checked with your local Post Office, checked with the carriers customer service line and exhausted any ways of tracking the product , issue of a store credit is at Guildford Book Exchanges discretion. Any Lost product must be notified to Guildford Book Exchange within 7 days of a reasonable delivery time (based on what was advised by the staff at shipping stage). You must contact Guildford Book Exchange within two (2) weeks of receiving the shipping e-mail if the goods are not received and above steps have been carried out in order to discuss refunds otherwise it will be at the stores discretion if a refund will be offered in any way.
Customers please note that many of our Guildford Book Exchange customers inform us that their carriers/ Australia Post Re-directions do not work with packages. Guildford Book Exchange will not be responsible for replacing goods or extra costs if a redirection has not been successful. Please contact Customer Service before you move to ensure a current order has the updated details to minimize delays.
CHEQUE AND BANK TRANSFERS
If a customer elects to pay by Cheque/Money Order or Bank Transfer and the funds are not received within 30 days, then the order will be cancelled. Please note that stock availability and prices may change if the time between placing the order and payment being received is delayed. Please remember to include the Guildford Book Exchange Order Number as a reference with your payment. If you are paying by Bank Transfer you must send a message via e-mail listed on the website informing us that you have made the payment. Guildford Book Exchange will send an email when/if payment has not been received within 7 days of the order being placed.
CHARGING OF CREDIT CARDS
A credit card is charged for physical items after the Guildford Book Exchange order team has confirmed availability. Items that are no longer available will be removed from the website and excluded from your processed order and therefore you will not be charged for them..
If any delays are discovered on a particular title at the time of processing, you will be contacted via e-mail with details of the options available to you. If you agree to a longer delivery time, your credit card will be charged at the time of confirmation.
If Guildford Book Exchange is unable to charge a customer’s credit card due to insufficient funds or other errors, then Guildford Book Exchange will attempt to contact the customer by email or phone to rectify the issue. If the customer does not contact Guildford Book Exchange to resolve the issue then the order will be cancelled. Please note that stock availability and prices may change if the time between placing the order and credit card details being corrected or funds being available is delayed.
ORDERS WITH MULTIPLE ITEMS
Costs for deliveries within Australia are inclusive of postage however overseas deliveries will incur extra costs at the customers expense, in which case we will contact you to discuss the postage costs and payment.
All overseas orders are consolidated to one delivery
If a Fed-Ex/UPS/DHL service does not deliver to your specified address we reserve the right to cancel your order before it is processed.
If any extra charges are incurred for delivery due to import taxes or such they will be at the responsibility of you as the customer (you will be charged for these), we will advise by e-mail or phone so suitable arrangements for payment can be made.
All orders with an overseas delivery address are firm sale and a store credit or refund is not available. If an item is received damaged please contact the store to discuss (depending on circumstances it will be at the stores discretion any refund/return charges applied to the item)
COMPLETION OF AN ORDER
An order will be complete when either of the following occurs (i) all items were sent and delivered (ii) the order has been cancelled (iii) the customer nominated to pay by cheque, money order or bank transfer and the monies were never received by Guildford Book Exchange within 30 days of the date of the order and the unprocessed order was cancelled (iv) the customer received some items but nominated to get a credit or refund for the remaining amount (v) Guildford Book Exchange could not charge the credit card and the unprocessed order was cancelled (vi) the remaining items that are yet to be delivered in the order are no longer available through Guildford Book Exchange(vii) the customer will receive a refund for the amount of the cancelled item.
Guildford Book Exchange Pty Ltd keeps all personal information submitted in the strictest confidence. The information is kept on a secure server and is only used to process orders from Guildford Book Exchange. This information will not be released to anyone other than necessary to fulfill your order. In some instances Guildford Book Exchange Pty Ltd’s suppliers will fulfill directly to you, the customer, to improve delivery times and your contact information is kept in the strictest confidence. We will not rent or sell your personal information to any third party outside of Guildford Book Exchange Pty Ltd without your permission.
Third-Party Service Providers: Guildford Book Exchange uses Australia Post, UPS, FedEx, and DHL to deliver packages. Guildford Book Exchange may provide these companies your email address ONLY to provide customers up to date delivery tracking of dispatched orders.
The information contained on the Guildford Book Exchange website may contain technical inaccuracies or typographical errors. All liability of Guildford Book Exchange Pty Ltd howsoever arising for inaccuracies or errors is expressly excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Guildford Book Exchange reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time.
